Social Media Marketing

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 16. December 2009 0

There is no denying the fact that the internet has made this a small world after all! The growing popularity of internet marketing has revolutionized the way we interact with another and do business today.

Irrespective of their location, online web marketers all across the world are realizing just how important it is to market their brand / website well in order to reach a global audience. And this is where the growing importance of Social Media Marketing is truly felt and understood.

First things first, what is Social Media Marketing (SMM)?

Also known as a form of internet marketing, social media marketing refers to the collective efforts of marketing and promoting a website or business through the use of a plethora of social media channels such as social networks, blogs, forums, social book marking, online communities as well as social media sharing tools.

Cause and Effect

Whether the goal is to boost sales, generate exposure for your business, create a strong corporate brand, enter into new business partnerships or indulge in some public relations, social media marketing lives up to the challenge, if used correctly. The results include brand recognition, traffic generation, link popularity, better search engine rankings and tremendous online visibility. In fact, it is common knowledge that social media marketing is one of the best available tools for driving people to your website. What happens next is you get the opportunity to show your website visitors how you can help them by providing answers to their questions and solutions to their problems.

Popular Social Media Marketing Tools

What sets apart social media from all other media tools is the fact that they primarily refer to user generated content platforms. Some of the most common social media marketing tools include Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Digg, Delicious, Technorati, Stumbleupon, Reddit, YouTube, Flickr, and MySpace, among others. Out of these, Twitter seems to be topping the popularity charts with more and more individuals and businesses using it to promote themselves.

How to go about it?

The best place to start is by analyzing your overall marketing goals and understanding how social media can complement your efforts. Once you know who your target audience is, you can start finalizing a list of social media tools that will help you to target them well and eventually create a positive and strong impression for your brand / service. Remember, brand awareness is vital for any business. Once you are able to gain visibility for your service, it is just a matter of time before new visitors to the website convert to loyal customers, bringing you business for a long time to come.

Agreed, social media marketing does demand time, patience and regularity. However, the end results are truly worth the efforts. If you still haven’t started utilizing the power of Social Media Marketing tools, I suggest that you begin now. Integrate these tools into your website and online marketing plan and see the difference it makes to your online existence. You won’t be sorry!

Never Hear “No” Again?

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 14. December 2009 0

Do you find it hard to talk to prospects on the phone, getting hung up on, or handling objections? I used to be like that, constantly taking the prospects that I would generate on the internet and vomit my business opportunity to them.

Time after time, I would basically get laughed at followed by am immediate “Click”. I just couldn’t figure it out.  What was I doing wrong?  There were so many people out there that were effortlessly sponsoring people on the phone. I did this for what seemed like a lifetime.  I wasn’t getting anywhere with my business, basically sponsoring one or two every now and then.

But then I found something that changed the way I talked to prospects forever.  It was a video interview with Mike Dillard, and master recruiter Mark Wieser. In this video Mark get grilled by Mike on how he is able to personally sponsor over 254 reps in one year and how he is able to do it with such ease. I figured out that I needed to change the way that I was talking to the prospects.  I needed to qualify them to see if they are right for my business, not if they would be interested in joining.

I also figured out that I am the boss, I need to control the situation, I am interviewing my prospects to see if they would be good enough to be part of my business. Basically think of it as if you were the manager interviewing to hire a new employee.

By changing the way that I approach the conversation and the attitude that I have in the conversation, I am now not getting hung up on.  I am sponsoring more than ever.  Prospects are actually thanking me for the conversations that we have.

Sponsoring and talking to prospects doesn’t have to be hard, frustrating, or filled with rejection. All you need to know  is how to do it the right way, the fun way, from someone that knows how to do it and do it well.

So if you would like to learn how I overcame my fear of talking to prospects on the phone, now sponsor more than ever, and how I never hear the word no again, then you need to get your hands on this free 1 hour video interview.

A Little Short On Cash Building Your Business?

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 14. December 2009 0

Building your home business can truly be a costly one.  Each time you turn around you seem to spend every dollar you have on advertising and not getting ahead in your business. It basically will nickel and dime you to death. You really can’t get ahead in your business if you have to spend a ton on advertising, especially when you are first starting out.

Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could show you basically step by step how you can build your home business without spending a ton of money while doing it? Well, there is some good news.

I recently came across something that I think will really help your business as it has mine. It is a videos series by a guy named Mike Dillard called “Building On A Budget”.

In these videos Mike shows you how to build any home business for $500 or less. I took these free videos and purchased his ridiculously low priced book, and within two weeks of applying the techniques he teaches and am now getting as many as 10 new qualified prospects per day.

The best part is that I did not spend much money while doing it. Now I have the tools to grow my business without getting nickel and dimed to death.

Twelve differences between those who dream and those who act

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 14. December 2009 0
  1. Wanna-be’s obsess about ideas. Entrepreneurs obsess about implementation. Don’t get stuck in Analysis Paralysis. Look at what the top income producers are doing and copy them. No need to re-invent the wheel.
  2. Wanna-be’s want more web traffic. Entrepreneurs focus on sales conversion. Use a marketing system that closes the sales FOR you! You do not want to be a sales person. You also want a system that will do this for your new members as well, giving you the ability to earn ridiculous amounts of residual income.
  3. Wanna-be’s focus on positive thinking. Entrepreneurs plan for multiple contingencies. Positive thinking is important but you are not a Jedi, yet. You cannot move things with your mind or conjure money out of thin air. Positive thinking will only get you so far. You must have Positive thinking combined with specific, targeted action.
  4. Wanna-be’s want to get on TV and get “famous.” Entrepreneurs build their businesses and their list. Let the ego go. Your only goal is to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible. This will inspire others to do the same.
  5. Wanna-be’s seek a perfect plan and wait for the perfect time. Entrepreneurs execute and take action when they see an opportunity. Entrepreneurs accept educated risk and are able to make big decisions quickly once they have all the information. Make a decision and take some risk. No successful entrepreneur accomplished any significant by playing it safe!
  6. Wanna-be’s wait for their lucky break. Entrepreneurs take responsibility and create their OWN circumstances.
  7. Wanna-be’s fear looking stupid in front of their friends. Entrepreneurs willingly risk making fools of themselves, knowing that long-term success is a good trade for short-term loss of image. Don’t listen to your friends and family-They are BROKE. They have zero credibility as far as financial decisions are concerned. Surround yourself with people who have results and do what they do. This is the only way to fast track your wealth.
  8. Wanna-be’s shield their precious ideas from harsh reality, postponing the verdict of success or failure until ‘someday.’ Entrepreneurs expose their ideas to cold reality as soon as reasonably possible. Don’t be afraid to look stupid. That is just ego screwing with you. One way to know you are on the right track is when you lose anything in common with all of your brokes friends and family. They don’t count, unless you want their results! PERIOD!
  9. Wanna-be’s put off practicing basketball until they’ve got Air Jordan’s. Entrepreneurs practice barefoot behind the garage. Stop waiting for the perfect time, the perfect opportunity, the perfect situation. Take decisive action now and stop procrastinating.
  10. Wanna-be’s believe what they’re told. Entrepreneurs do original research and make their own decisions. Do your due diligence and follow you gut. It will rarely lead you astray.
  11. Wanna-be’s believe they can do anything. Entrepreneurs use systems and technology to solve the variables that most people struggle with.
  12. Wanna-be’s think about the world in terms of COULD and SHOULD. Entrepreneurs think in terms of IS and CAN BE.

You can have it all if you really believe you can. Figure out who you are, what you want, and stop settling for less!

Tired Of The Old School Network Marketing Techniques?

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 13. December 2009 0

Are you tired of the old school network marketing techniques? You know the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, bugging your family and friends, and holding hotel meetings.

I know that when I first joined my first network marketing company, I was told to use these same techniques.  I was told to make a list of 100 people that I knew and basically call every one of them to ask and see if they would be interested in making some extra money.

I was only faced with questions I wasn’t able to answer, getting hung up on, and faced with nothing but rejection.

When I was officially shunned by everyone that I knew, all my upline told me to do was to go out and buy some opportunity leads.

This only led me to some more rejection and spending a bunch of money.

Now I was out of money, and had nothing to show for it.

Then just as I was going to give up, I found what I consider to be the “life saver” for my business.

This life saver I speak of was Mike Dillard’s 7 Day Free Video Boot Camp.

In these 7 free videos Mike explained how I could attract an endless stream of prospects to me ready to join and actually get paid to prospect.

These videos have really changed the way I do my business, and I think they can help you too.

Do Your Customers Forget About You?

Publisert av Sigve Kommedalden 13. December 2009 0

Your web business probably gets product inquiries from potential customers around the globe. Inquiries come via e-mail and your web site, and you try to send information to each hot prospect as quickly as you can. You know that you can drastically increase the likelihood of making a sale by satisfying each person’s need for information quickly!

But, after you’ve delivered that first bit of information to your prospect, do you send him any further information?

If you are like most Internet marketers, you don’t.

When you don’t follow that initial message with additional information later on, you let a valuable prospect slip from your grasp! This is a potential customer who may have been very interested in your products, but who lost your contact information, or was too busy to make a purchase when your first message reached him.

Often, a prospect will purposely put off making a purchase, to see if you find him important enough to follow up with later. When he doesn’t receive a follow up message from you, he will take his business elsewhere.

Are you losing profits due to inconsistent and ineffective follow up?
Following up with leads is more than just a process – it’s an art. In order to be effective, you need to design a follow up system, and stick to it, EVERY DAY! If you don’t follow up with your prospects consistently, INDIVIDUALLY, and in a timely fashion, then you might as well forget the whole follow up process.

Consistent follow up gets results!

When I first started marketing and following up with prospects, I used a follow up method that I now call the “List Technique.” I had a large database containing the names and e-mail addresses of people who had specifically requested information about my products and services. These prospects had already received my first letter by the time they requested more information, so I used the company’s latest news as a follow up piece.

I would write follow up newsletters every now and then, and send them, in one mass mailing, to everyone who had previously requested information from me. While this probably did help me win a few additional orders, it wasn’t a very good follow up method. Why isn’t the “List Technique” very effective?

The List Technique isn’t consistent. Proponents of the List Technique tend to only send out follow up messages when their companies have “big news”.
List Technique messages don’t give the potential customer any additional information about the product or service in question. He can’t make a more informed buying decision after receiving a newsletter! If someone is wondering whether your company sells the best knick-knacks, what does he care that you’ve just moved your headquarters?
List Technique messages convey a “big list” mentality to your potential customers. When I used to write follow up messages using the List Technique, I was writing news bulletins to everyone I knew! I should have been sending a personal message to each individual who wanted to know more about my products.

What follow up method really works?

Following up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, and with pre-written messages, will dramatically increase sales! Others who use this same technique confirm that they have all at least doubled the sales of various products! In order to set this system up, though, you need to do some planning.

First, you’ll need to develop your follow up messages. If you’ve been marketing on the Internet for any length of time, then you should already have a first informative letter. Your second letter marks the beginning of the follow up process, and should go into more detail than the first letter. Fill this letter with details that you didn’t have the space to add to the first letter. Stress the BENEFITS of your products or services!

Your next 2-3 follow up messages should be rather short. Include lists of the benefits and potential uses of your products and services. Write each letter so that your prospects can skim the contents, and still see the full force of your message.

The next couple of follow up messages should create a sense of urgency in your prospect’s mind. Make a special offer, giving him a reason to order NOW instead of waiting any longer. After reading these follow up messages, your prospect should want to order immediately!

Phrase each of your final 1 or 2 follow up messages in the form of a question. Ask your prospect why he hasn’t yet placed an order? Try to get him to actually respond. Ask if the price is to high, the product isn’t the right color or doesn’t have the right features, or if he is looking for something else entirely. (By this time, it’s unlikely that this person will order from you. However, his feedback can help you modify your follow up letters or products, so that other prospects will order from you.)

The timing of your follow up letters is just as important as their content. You don’t want one prospect to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another prospect waits weeks for a follow up!

Always send an initial, informative letter as soon as it is requested, and send the first follow up 24 hours afterwards. You want your hot prospects to have information quickly, so that they can make informed buying decisions!

Send the next 2-3 follow up messages between 1 and 3 days apart. Your prospect is still hot, and is probably still shopping around! Tell him about the benefits of your products and services, as opposed to your competitors’. You will make the sale!

Send the final follow up messages later on. You certainly don’t want to annoy your prospect! Make sure that these last letters are at least 4 days apart.

Following up effectively seems complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! So many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up – don’t you want to be one of the few to get it right?
